Just in time for Halloween, here’s a link to a CNN article about 10 of the most scenic cemeteries in the world. Enjoy!
10 most scenic cemeteries…

Thank you for this post. I’m a Seattle-area author and trekked through thirty or so cemeteries to research my new novel. Last week I had the honor of walking Lakeview Cemetery with KUOW’s host, Steve Scher. We both talked about how combing a cemetery is like taking a walk through a history book. Thank you.
You are most welcome. That must have been quite an interesting afternoon at Lakeview. I went there a couple of times to research my posts for that particular cemetery but realized I’d need several days of walking around to touch on all the stories and stones there. Good luck on your novel. There are several other posts about Lakeview here in this blog that might help your research. For some reason, WordPress isn’t allowing me to post them here but if you Google Beyond the Ghosts + Lakeview Cemetery, three main ones will come up.
Thank you! I will check out the other posts.
I’m onto book two now, so the research is taking me to Barker’s Corner, Hyde Park in London presently. Can’t wait to visit another cemetery though. The Newcastle Coal Miner’s Cemetery is the next on my list!
Sounds like fun! If you can, try to squeeze in Highgate Cemetery when you’re in London. It’s about a 10 minute walk or so from the Tube station but totally worth it.
Thanks for linking to this. Don’t know how I missed it! It’s great to see some unusual cemeteries on the list. What’s your favorite scenic cemetery?
I think I have to say all of them (except Cemeteri sud Oest in Barcelona) because each one has such a unique story. You’re doing a nice job on your site as well. 🙂
Thanks! 🙂 I haven’t been to Barcelona yet — despite two attempts — but hopefully third time will be the charm.
